Economic Empowerment – Women Entrepreneurs Received A Small Cash Grant

Nearly 22000 women entrepreneurs are in Batticaloa district, and most of them are adequately received training and unable to start the business or expand them due to financial and other cultural, patriarchal tradition as well the family burdens to spend time on empowering themself.

Patriarchy culture dominates women because the violence is increasingly rapidly against women, girls, and children.

We had discussions with few women survivors already involved in a small business level, and we supported selected 10 women survivors who are poor or most inadequate by giving small cash grants to expand their business to enhance the living standard of the families.

Women entrepreneurs received support for

  1. Tailoring and upcycling textiles
  2. Poultry farming
  3. Expand a petty shop
  4. Support for floriculture
  5. Goat rearing

The women are from Mylambavelly(Eravur pattru), Kokuvil,Navalady,Swissvillage(Manmunai North),Aayithiyamalai(Manmunai west)
